PASTOR MIKE HOOVEN

Mike grew up in Middletown, Pennsylvania. He became a follower of Jesus and was called to ministry by the time he was 17. However, he didn’t truly accept that calling until he was 27. He has journeyed and wrestled through his faith, which is why he has a passion to see others come to faith in Jesus.
Mike’s desire is to create a place where people who feel disconnected from faith can belong. Mike loves to look at scripture and apply it to our world today. Rather than avoid asking hard questions of the Bible and faith, Mike loves to explore them. He loves it when people discover that God’s desire for their lives is to bring good to our world and make a real difference in the community.
Mike, and his wife Tina came to us in the fall of 2015 after serving in other ministries and helping to start 4 churches in Indianapolis, Indiana. Although they have lived in many states, they love living in Colorado! Mike loves sports and depending on the season, you will find him cheering on our Denver teams! That is, unless they are playing his favorite Philadelphia teams. His favorite team is the Philadelphia Eagles and if you ever get to see his home office you will have no doubt about this.
Mike and Tina have been married since August of 1993. They have two adult children, Courtney and Zach. They are both involved in volunteer ministry in churches. Courtney attends Cloverdale and helps with our kids ministry and Zach attends a local church and is part of their video team.
Mike and Tina are dog lovers and have 2 dogs, Gracie and Ellie. Courtney also has a dog, Livie, (Olivia), who is really their first grandchild and she loves snuggling with her Poppy. If you attend church, you will see the dogs in the window across the street, protecting the neighborhood (or just annoyingly barking at everyone).
